North Dakota Supreme Court to hear four oral arguments at UND Law School Monday, October 28, 2019

UND News Release

The North Dakota Supreme Court will hear four oral arguments and judge the internal fall Moot Court student competition final argument at the University of North Dakota School of Law on October 30-31, 2019.  All five oral arguments will be held in the Baker Courtroom on the third floor of the UND School of Law.

The Supreme Court visit to the law school provides a unique opportunity for the members of the law school community, UND campus and surrounding area to see the state’s highest court in session.  In addition to hearing actual cases, UND Law students have the distinct privilege of having the Supreme Court judge the final argument of the internal fall Moot Court competition. During their two-day visit, the Justices will also lecture in law school classes and connect with law students, faculty, and staff through other special programs.

“The North Dakota Supreme Court Justices’ dedication to UND Law is extraordinary.  It is reflected not only by their fall visits as a group but also by their individual visits and contributions on regular occasions throughout the year,” said Dean Michael McGinniss. “We are very proud of this exceptional relationship with the Court, and very grateful for the Justices’ generosity in welcoming our students to learn from and interact with them inside and outside of our classrooms.”
