UND Pre-Law Society visits Supreme Court Thursday, April 9, 2026

The University of North Dakota Pre-Law Society visited the state capitol in Bismarck on Wednesday, April 8th. After visiting with Governor Kelly Armstrong, the members visited with Justices Jerod Tufte, Douglas Bahr, and Mark Friese, and Law Clerk Peter Liffrig. The court members addressed the different areas of law that attorneys may choose to work, how judges and justices decide cases and work in their respective offices, and the challenges that lawyers face in maintaining a positive work-life balance. Society members also asked about preparation for law school and the experiences the justices had while preparing to become licensed attorneys.

Justice Jerod Tufte answers a question from a member of the Pre-Law Society.

Justice Friese, standing at left, explains his educational experience while attending law school.
