Proposed Amendments to Commentary to Canon 4G,
Code of Judicial Conduct

On November 24, 2003, the Judiciary Standards Committee forwarded amendments to the Commentary to Canon 4G based on a request for an ethics advisory opinion to the Judicial Conference's Judicial Ethics Advisory Committee. The Court considered the proposed amendments to the Commentary to Canon 4G and made further amendments. A copy of the proposed amendments are attached.

ORDERED, any person wishing to comment on the proposed amendments should do so in writing no later than Friday, January 2, 2004. Written comments may be e-mailed to Penny Miller, Clerk of the Supreme Court, at supclerkofcourt@ndcourts.gov, or addressed to 600 E. Boulevard Ave., Dept. 180, Bismarck, ND 58505-0530.

The Supreme Court of the State of North Dakota convened December 3, 2003, with the Honorable Gerald W. VandeWalle, Chief Justice, the Honorable William A. Neumann, the Honorable Dale V. Sandstrom, the Honorable Mary Muehlen Maring, and the Honorable Carol Ronning Kapsner, Justices, directing the Clerk of the Supreme Court to enter the above order.
