In the Matter of the Chambering of
New Judgeship No. 9 in the East Central Judicial District
[1] The 63rd Legislative Assembly passed Senate Bill 2002, which has been signed by the Governor, and will become effective July 1, 2013. This legislation provides for an additional district court judge in the East Central Judicial District, with the chambers to be assigned by the Supreme Court. The Court considered the matter, and
[2] ORDERED, in contemplation of chambering new Judgeship No. 9 in the East Central Judicial District in Fargo, North Dakota, under N.D. Sup. Ct. Admin. R. 7.1, the Court will accept comments on the assignment of the resident chamber for this new judgeship. Any person wishing to comment on the matter may do so in writing no later than May 13, 2013.
[3] It is expected the Supreme Court will receive a report discussing the factors under N.D. Sup. Ct. Admin. R. 7.1, Section 4, for each of the counties in the East Central Judicial District from the Trial Court Administrator for Unit 2. [4] The Supreme Court of the State of North Dakota convened this 1st day of May, 2013, with the Honorable Gerald W. VandeWalle, Chief Justice, and the Honorable Dale V. Sandstrom, the Honorable Mary Muehlen Maring, the Honorable Carol Ronning Kapsner and the Honorable Daniel J. Crothers, Justices, directing the Clerk of the Supreme Court to enter the above order.
