Amendments to Administrative Rule 41 - Access to Judicial Records

On September 16, 1996, the Court Services Administration Committee submitted a proposed rule regarding access to judicial records and on September 25, 1996, this Court adopted Administrative Rule 41, on an emergency basis effective October 1, 1996, subject to a 30-day comment period. On October 31, 1996, this Court submitted the comments to Administrative Rule 41 to the Court Services Administration Committee for review. The Court Services Administration Committee completed its review of Administrative Rule 41 and on October 30, 1997, filed further amendments to Administrative Rule 41. The Court considered the matter, and

ORDERED, that Administrative Rule 41, as further amended by the Court, is ADOPTED effective immediately.

The Supreme Court of the State of North Dakota convened at 4 p.m. this 12th day of November, 1997, with the Honorable Gerald W. VandeWalle, Chief Justice, and the Honorable Herbert L. Meschke, the Honorable William A. Neumann, the Honorable Dale V. Sandstrom, the Honorable Mary Muehlen Maring, Justices, directing the Clerk of the Supreme Court to enter the above order.
