IN THE SUPREME COURT

STATE OF NORTH DAKOTA

ORDER OF ADOPTION

Supreme Court No. 990001

Amendments to Rule 3, Admission to Practice Rules

On January 5, 1999, the Joint Committee on Attorney Standardsfiled its Report along with proposed amendments to Rule 3, North Dakota Admission to Practice Rules. Notice was provided under Section 7, N.D.R.Proc.R., and a hearing was held on the proposed amendments on Wednesday, February 17, 1999. At that time, written comments were also submitted to the Court. On March 17, 1999, the Court adopted amendments to the North Dakota Rules for Lawyer Discipline and the North Dakota Rules of Professional Conduct; however, the proposed amendments to Rule 3, North Dakota Admission to Practice Rules, were held in abeyance until proposed amendments to Rule 11.1, North Dakota Rules of Court, were considered by the Joint Procedure Committee and a recommendation made to the Court. On November 17, 1999, the Supreme Court adopted amendments to Rule 11.1, North Dakota Rules of Court, effective March 1, 2000. The Court considered the matter, and

ORDERED, that proposed amendments to Rule 3, Admission to Practice Rules, as further amended by the Court, are ADOPTED effective March 1, 2000.
