8th Circuit decides N.D. case: Aug 5

The United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit has issued an opinion affirming a district court order enjoining tribal courts in North Dakota's Mandan, Hidatsa, and Arikara Nation from deciding suits over oil and gas leases on allotted trust lands.

Miller announces retirement as Clerk of the North Dakota Supreme Court

Penny Miller advised the Justices in July that she will be retiring as Clerk of the Supreme Court at the end of the year. Miller has served as Clerk of the Supreme Court for the State of North Dakota since July 1, 1992. She is the fourth clerk in the history of the state.
