  • 4 finalists chosen for SCJD judge vacancy

    The Judicial Nominating Committee has named four attorneys as finalists for appointment to the South Central Judicial District judgeship vacancy that will be created by the retirement of Judge Gail Hagerty. They are Jessica J. Binder of Stanton and Paul H. Myerchin, Matthew A. Sagsveen and Bobbi Brown Weiler, all of Bismarck.
  • Judge Racek will not seek reelection in ECJD

    East Central Judicial District Presiding Judge Frank Racek has announced that he will not be running for reelection in 2020. Judge Racek served as a county judge from 1988-1994 and was first elected district judge in 1994.

    South Central Judicial District Judge Thomas J. Schneider has announced that he will not be running for reelection in 2020. Judge Schneider served as a county judge from 1986-1994 and was first elected district judge in 1994.
  • Judge Hagerty to retire

    South Central Judicial District Presiding Judge Gail Hagerty has announced that she will retire effective March 16, 2020. Judge Hagerty served as a Burleigh County Judge from 1987-1994 and was first elected as a SCJD judge in 1994.
