The Supreme Court Law Library has put together a quick guide to conducting research into legislative history. -

The Supreme Court will hold an education series from 12-1 p.m. CDT on the third Friday of August, September, October and November. The first session will be held Friday, Aug. 20. -

July bar examination begins
The North Dakota Bar Exam began on Tuesday, July 27, with 65 applicants taking the exam. Of the applicants sitting on Tuesday, 60 percent are graduates of the UND School of Law and 79 percent are first-time test takers. The exam ends Wednesday. -

Supreme Court returning to in-person oral argument
Starting in June, the Supreme Court will be returning to in-person oral arguments. The month of June will be conducted in a hybrid fashion with some arguments held in-person in the Ralph J. Erickstad Courtroom and some arguments held by Zoom. -

In April, the Judicial Improvement Program will begin collecting feedback on judge performance using electronic surveys. -

The 2020 annual report for North Dakota Juvenile Court has been posted. This year’s report provides data on referrals to juvenile court by case type, location, gender, and age along with statistics and updates on programs. -

The State Court Administrator has calculated that the interest rate on judgments for 2021 will be 6.5 percent. -

Courthouses to close for Thanksgiving holiday
The Supreme Court and courthouses across the state will be closed Thursday, Nov. 26, for Thanksgiving. On Friday, Nov. 27, the Supreme Court and the Barnes, Burleigh, Cass and Morton County courthouses will be open. The rest of the county courthouses in the state will be closed. -
