Entries invited in contest on importance of Bill of Rights

The United States Courts of Appeals along with the United States District Courts for the Seventh and Eighth Circuits are hosting a Bill of Rights contest. School aged children in Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin are encouraged to submit an essay, poem, video, photograph, song, or piece of art on the importance of the Bill of Rights.

Brian W. Nelson 1937-2020

Longtime Fargo attorney Brian W. Nelson died Sept. 20. A University of North Dakota School of Law graduate, he was admitted to the N.D. bar in 1962.

N.D. Attorney General opinion: Sept. 30

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that the Mandan Police Department violated the open records laws when it improperly redacted information such as the breed, species, color and sex of dogs involved in two dog attack incidents from the records it provided.
