N.D. Attorney General opinions: April 12

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that the City of Mandan did not violate the law by failing to provide requested records because it never received a request and an opinion that the Crystal Lake Township Board of Supervisors violated the law when they held a special meeting but did not post a meeting notice.

Courthouses to open late today

The Dickey County courthouse will be closed Friday, April 12. Barnes County will open at 9 a.m., Cass County at 10 a.m., Sargent County at 11 a.m. and Ransom County at noon.

Drew Wrigley confirmed as U.S. Attorney for North Dakota

U.S. Supreme Court April 15 arguments

Monday, the United States Supreme Court will hear arguments in a trademark case on “immoral” and “scandalous” marks and in a securities case on whether there is a right of action based on a negligent misstatement made in connection with a tender offer.

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that the City of Dickinson violated the open records laws because it did not provide records within a reasonable time and that the City of Arnegard violated the law by holding committee meetings without providing public notice.
