Summary

John Clark Bridges appeals from a district court’s orders and judgments denying his applications for postconviction relief.

Bridges pleaded guilty to charges of murder and kidnapping in 2012, and pleaded guilty to a charge of attempted murder in 2013. Bridges filed four applications for postconviction relief throughout 2021. The State filed answers to each application, as well as motions requesting summary disposition. The district court granted the motions for summary disposition on each application, concluding Bridges’ applications were untimely and did not present genuine issues of material fact.

On appeal, Bridges argues the district court erred in summarily dismissing his applications for postconviction relief without evidentiary hearings.
