8th Circuit decides two N.D. cases Friday, July 9, 2021

The United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit has issued opinions in two North Dakota cases.

In United States v. Azure, the court held that the defendant waived his sentencing issues as part of the appeal waiver in his guilty plea.

In United States v. Jackson, the court held that the above-guidelines range sentence imposed after defendant violated the provisions of his supervised release was substantively reasonable; the district court did not abuse its discretion in imposing an additional term of supervised release.
