Daniel Traynor nomination to U.S. District Court for North Dakota advances Friday, November 1, 2019

The U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee has voted to advance the nomination of Devils Lake attorney Daniel Traynor to be U.S. District Judge for North Dakota. President Donald Trump nominated Traynor for the position in August after it was vacated by semi-retired Judge Daniel Hovland.

North Dakota's other district judge, Peter Welte, was confirmed in July.

Traynor is a shareholder at Traynor Law Firm in Devils Lake and is also a member of the State Board of Higher Education. He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of North Dakota and went on to graduate with distinction from the UND School of Law in 1997.
