Job Announcement - Legal Assistant Wednesday, October 7, 2020

Eddy County will be accepting applications for a full-time legal assistant for the Eddy County State’s Attorney through October 30, 2020 at noon. A complete job description is available with the Eddy County Auditor; due to courthouse COVID restrictions, applicants should request information electronically by email to Patty Williams at pawilliams@nd.gov.

Applicants must submit a resume, contact information of three professional references, and a cover letter detailing their work experience, minimum qualifications, and knowledge of the legal field. All application packets should be submitted to the Eddy County Auditor by email.

Minimum qualifications include: one year’s experience in performing legal office support; an associate degree with emphasis in the paralegal field preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience; knowledge of appropriate legal terminology, legal forms, and legal files; a high degree of written and/or verbal communication skills dealing with employees, clients, or the general public, with the ability to handle multiple duties and priorities under limited supervision; and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality in legal proceedings.

Applicants who are residents of North Dakota and eligible to claim veteran’s preference must include Form DD214.
