A 10% Increase in Passage Rate on the July 2019 Bar Examination

 

The State Board of Law Examiners have announced the results of the July 2019 bar examination.  On July 30 and 31, 2019, of the 82 applicants who sat for the bar examination in Bismarck, North Dakota, 60 applicants achieved a passing score.  This is a 73 percent overall pass rate, compared to 63 percent a year ago. The passage rate for those taking the North Dakota exam for the first time, increased to 83 percent, up from 75 percent last year.

There were 67 graduates from the University of North Dakota School of Law who sat for this exam, 50 achieved a passing score, which is a 75 percent overall pass rate, compared to 63 percent a year ago. Fifty-eight of those graduates sat for the North Dakota bar examination for the first time, with 49 achieving a pass score for an 84 percent pass rate.
