  • Robert Alderman 1928-2020

    UND School of Law graduate Robert “Bob” LeRoy Alderman died Nov. 16. A native of Casselton, he was admitted to the North Dakota bar in 1953 and spent most of his adult life in Spencer, Iowa.
  • Earle "Bud" Myers Jr. 1938-2020

    Longtime state's attorney Earle "Bud" Myers Jr., died Oct. 18. A 1969 UND School of Law graduate, he was a career prosecutor serving in Grand Forks, Richland and Cass counties for more than 30 years.
  • LeRoy P. Anseth 1937-2020

    Longtime Williston attorney LeRoy P. Anseth died Oct. 6. A 1962 graduate of the UND School of Law, he was admitted to the North Dakota bar in 1962.
  • Brian W. Nelson 1937-2020

    Longtime Fargo attorney Brian W. Nelson died Sept. 20. A University of North Dakota School of Law graduate, he was admitted to the N.D. bar in 1962.
  • Leonard Levine 1929-2020

    Leonard Levine, husband of retired Supreme Court Justice Beryl Levine, died Sept. 2. He practiced medicine for 59 years, the majority of which were in Fargo.
  • John Doerr 1933-2020

    Longtime attorney John Doerr, 87, died Aug. 22. A graduate of the UND School of Law, he was admitted to the North Dakota bar in 1958. Funeral services will be held Aug. 28 in Twin Falls, Idaho.
  • Thomas J. Gunderson 1941-2020

    Minot attorney Thomas J. Gunderson, 78, died July 22. He was a University of North Dakota School of Law graduate and was admitted to the N.D. bar in 1972. His funeral is scheduled in New Town at Saint Anthony's Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29.
  • Karen McBride 1945-2020

    Longtime Bismarck attorney Karen McBride, 74, died July 17. A graduate of the University of North Dakota School of Law, she was admitted to the N.D. bar in 1984. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday, July 24, and will be livestreamed.
  • Lyle Kirmis 1949-2020

    Longtime Bismarck attorney Lyle W. Kirmis, 70, of Plymouth, Minn., died June 28. A University of Minnesota law graduate, he was admitted to the North Dakota bar in 1974. A Celebration of Life in Bismarck is being planned.
  • Richard “Richie” E. T. Smith 1952-2020

    Longtime Wahpeton attorney Richard “Richie” E. T. Smith died May 22. A Creighton law school graduate, he was admitted to the N.D. bar in 1977. A drive by funeral parade will be held on Tuesday, May 26, 2020 from 3-5 p.m. on Augustana Drive on Otter Tail Lake, Minn.
