Court amends pandemic emergency orders Friday, April 17, 2020

The Supreme Court has amended Administrative Order 25, the pandemic emergency order, and Administrative Order 26, the emergency order for bail and plea proceedings.

Order 25 was amended to suspend all jury trials until July 1, 2020. In addition, the time to review detainers and extradition holds was extended from within 14 days of the expiration of the emergency order to within 14 days after June 1, 2020. The amended order also extends the suspension of  multi-person, in-person group meetings or hearings in specialty courts from April 24 to July 1, 2020.

Order 26 was amended to extend the written plea petition process to all class C felonies.
