Courthouses closed for Christmas holiday
The Supreme Court and county courthouses around the state will be closed Monday, Dec. 26, for Christmas. In addition, the courthouses in Barnes, Emmons, Foster, McKenzie, Mountrail, Pierce, Renville, Sargent and Traill counties will close at noon on Friday, Dec. 23, while courthouses in Adams, Billings, Bottineau, Bowman, Burke, Dickey, Dunn, Eddy, Golden Valley, Grand Forks, Griggs, Kidder, LaMoure, Logan, Nelson, Pembina, Ramsey, Ransom, Richland, Sheridan, Sioux, Stark, Steele, Towner and Wells counties will be closed all day Dec. 23. -

Two judges and an attorney have been named as finalists to fill the upcoming vacancy on the Supreme Court. They are South Central Judicial District Judge Doug Bahr, North Central Judicial District Judge Stacy Louser and Assistant United States Attorney Jake Rodenbiker. -

Attorney John E. Jacobson died Dec. 12. A graduate of the UND School of Law, he was admitted to the N.D. bar in 1972. Services will be held on Jan. 14, 2023, in Seneca, S.C. -

The LaMoure County Clerk of Court's office and the Kidder and Logan County courthouses closed at noon today, Dickey County closed at 1 p.m., Billings County closed at 1:30 p.m. MST, Traill County will be closing at 3:30 p.m. and Barnes County will be closing at 4 p.m. -
