Judge Hagerty to retire Tuesday, November 26, 2019

South Central Judicial District Presiding Judge Gail Hagerty has announced that she will retire effective March 16, 2020.  Judge Hagerty served as a Burleigh County Judge from 1987-1994 and was first elected as a SCJD judge in 1994.

Her retirement will create a vacancy in the SCJD.

A 1978 UND School of Law graduate, Judge Hagerty has been presiding judge of the SCJD since 2004. She was president of the State Bar Association of North Dakota from 2012-2013. She is a commissioner with the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws. Judge Hagerty served as Burleigh County State's Attorney from 1982-86.
