The Judiciary Standards Committee filed proposed Amendments to the North Dakota Rules of Judicial Conduct Commission on October 31, 1996. The Judiciary Standard Committee's October 31, 1996 letter to the Supreme Court explaining the requested amendments and the Summary and Background of the proposed amendments are attached.

The Joint Attorney Standards Committee filed a Report and proposed amendments to the North Dakota Rules of Professional Conduct. The Committee requested amendments to Rules 1.17, 1.18, 1.5, 3.9, 5.3, 5.4, 5.6, 5.7, 7.2, and the terminology section of NDRPC, and requested adoption of Rule 3.9, NDRPC, on an emergency basis. Final Order of Adoption

On September 11, 1996, the State Bar Board petitioned the Supreme Court to amend section VII of the Limited Practice of Law by Law Students. The amendments related to the length of time a graduate law student may practice law under the supervision of a member of the State Bar Association of North Dakota.
