Longtime attorney David A. LeMieux died Dec. 24, 2020. He grew up in Stanley, graduated from the UND School of Law, and was admitted to the North Dakota bar in 1958. A family mass is planned, and a public celebration is pending. -

The University of North Dakota has announced that Rob Carolin, longtime director of alumni and public relations at the UND School of Law, will join UND President Andy Armacost's office as chief of staff. -

Courthouses to close for New Year's holiday
The Supreme Court and county courthouses across the state will be closed Friday, Jan. 1, for New Year's Day. The courthouses in Adams, Renville, Rolette, Steele and Wells counties will close at noon Dec. 31 while the courthouses in Benson and Traill counties will be closed all day Dec. 31 along with the Steele County Clerk of Court office. -

Courthouses closed, court cancelled today due to weather
Court has been cancelled Wednesday, Dec. 23, in Steele County due to weather. The Dickey and Sargent County courthouses will be closed and Walsh County offices will not open until 9 a.m. -

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that the Ethics Commission has the constitutional authority to promulgate rules defining “lobby” and “lobbyist,” even if those definitions are broader than what has been adopted by the Legislature. -
