Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that, provided in-state firms are qualified and investment decisions are consistent with the prudent investor rule, the State Investment Board may give preference to in-state firms when investing the legacy fund. -

Susan H. Mickelson 1953-2021
Longtime Rolette County Clerk of Court Susan H. Mickelson died Oct. 28. She began work in the clerk's office in 1989 and became Clerk of Court in 1994. She retired in 2014. A memorial service will be held in Rolla on Friday, Nov. 5. -

Attorney General Wayne Stenehjem has issued an opinion that the requirements of SB 2030 should be read to carry out the purpose of the Legislative Assembly to prevent state funds from flowing to organizations that perform or promote the performance of abortions. -

Longtime Minot attorney Lynn Aas died Oct. 28 at the age of 100. He was a UND School of Law graduate and was admitted to the N.D. bar in 1949. A celebration of life will be held Thursday, Nov. 4, in Minot. -

Grand Forks Attorney Kraig A. Wilson died Sept. 23. He was a graduate of the UND School of Law and was admitted to the N.D. bar in 1999. Funeral services will be held Monday, Sept. 27, at Norman Funeral Home in Grand Forks. -
